The most amazing little Italian restaurant with great food and great staff. Everyone is always friendly and willing to help. The food is 100% cooked fresh and is always awesome. Karen is hands on and gets involved with the guests to make them feel welcome and at home. Most people know each other so it’s like eating with family. If you want great atmosphere and an amazing experience...GO TO TATES you won’t be disappointed and you’ll definitely come back again.

I can’t stay away from this place. It is my go to place when I want great food, service and a low key atmosphere..From the moment you enter you feel as though you are part of the Tate’s family. I like to call it the “home of the two for one martini” because Karen the owner, gives you the shaker after she pours the first.. Her small menu means she has perfected those dishes. One bite and you’ll know what I’m talking about. I like to bring friends and look at there faces as they experience what I already know. I think this falls into the category of “a hidden gem” Charlie B

I grew up in Rhode Island and am here visiting with friends after I moved away. I brought my husband (an Italian man from New York) with me to RI for the first time. Despite all of the amazing food we have had during our vacation here, this was by far his favorite experience. The food was incredible!!! Our group got various entrees and we were all super happy with what we got. The desserts were also phenomenal. The drinks were perfect! The restaurant was clean and super cozy. It is a very comfortable atmosphere. Karen, the owner, personally served our table and was so friendly and attentive. She was also very witty and so warm and welcoming. We felt very at home here and plan to go there next time we visit Rhode Island. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Don't let the modest exterior fool you. The food is exquisite. My wife and I went there for a lovely dinner. We started with the very best beet salad that we had ever had. The combo of the goat cheese, arugala, beets, on a base of a roasted cashew nut paste was truly amazing. Hats off to the chef on creativity and execution. My wife had the chicken parmagiana and I the eggplant parmagiana. (ok, a bit boring). Perfectly done, but maybe not the best ever. However--both dishes came with a side of homemade pasta that was outstanding. So, be sure to get a dish with their pasta when you are there--don't miss it. The atmosphere was between a 4 and 5 star for me. Because Wickford is a sort of beachy, Narragansett historic village, 5 stars is justified by the decor. In a less beachy environ, it would have brought fewer stars. Has a fully stocked bar, and enjoyed a cocktail there also. All in all, a very pleasant experience. Bravo to the chef and owner.

Just finishing our dinner now and I felt compelled To leave my review before I forgot everything. The owners, Karen and Jack, are the nicest people - they welcomed us straightaway and got us settled at our table. The atmosphere is very relaxed and comfortable- like a friend’s backyard party. Our party ordered a veal parm, eggplant parm, bolognese and two plates of pasta and meatball for the kids. Everything came out looking, and tasting, excellent- super fresh and delicious. The adults had some cocktails, which were perfectly made. We cannot wait to come back!!

The owner noticed me outside taking photos next door and invited me into her establishment also. Very accommodating and generous with her space and access. I have actually eaten at this establishment in years gone by and found it delicious, but the details elude me. 5 stars on friendliness and service from all I encountered.

This is a true Italian restaurant with fabulous cuisine. Love their eggplant parmigiana with homemade pasta! Hoping that the butternut squash raviolis will be on the menu this fall (another mouth watering dish to enjoy).

This was our first time at Tate's and we were greeted by very personable and welcoming staff. Our drink order was taken promptly upon our arrival and we couldn't have been more pleased with our Manhattan and Dirty Martini. Dinner was simply delicious. It was apparent that fresh high quality ingredients were used to put these dishes together. There wasn't a crumb left on either of our plates as we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. We look forward to visiting again in the near future. Well done!
